Ashton Recruitment requires several plumbers for our client based in Northern Ireland.

Full time, 40-hour week

My client is a leading Construction, Fit Out and Facilities Management provider with offices across the UK. They deliver a wide range of projects, including electrical installation and maintenance, for private, public sector, and retail clients - meaning no two days are ever the same for their team. Employing over 170 people across the UK and Ireland, they have ambitious plans to continue growing in the coming years.

Following new contract wins and expanding workloads with existing clients, they are now seeking multiple experienced plumbers to join their team within the County of Armagh.

The ideal candidates will have a solid background in installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems. They should be capable of working both independently and collaboratively, possess strong problem-solving abilities, and be comfortable managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

Duties (not limited to):

  • Respond promptly to reactive maintenance call-outs across various client sites.
  • Diagnose and repair plumbing faults efficiently to restore full functionality and minimise downtime.
  • Carry out emergency repairs on water, heating, and drainage systems.
  • Inspect, test and troubleshoot plumbing systems to identify underlying issues.
  • Replace or repair pipes, valves, taps, toilets, sinks and other fixtures as required.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, in line with current regulations and company procedures.
  • Record all works carried out, including materials used and time spent, via job management systems.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and site teams to provide updates and manage expectations.
  • Maintain company vehicles, tools and equipment in good working order.
  • Support other maintenance trades where necessary to ensure smooth site operations.
  • Always represent the company in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Essential Criteria
  • Time-served plumber with a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent NVQ Level 3 qualification and proven experience in plumbing installation, maintenance and repair in commercial, industrial or domestic environments
  • Full UK driving licence with the ability to travel to multiple client sites across Northern Ireland
  • Valid CSR (Construction Skills Register) card to demonstrate compliance with health, safety and environmental standards
  • Experience in reactive maintenance, diagnosing and repairing plumbing faults quickly and effectively
  • Strong technical knowledge of hot and cold-water systems, sanitary ware, drainage systems and associated components
  • Good understanding of health and safety practices and the ability to identify and mitigate risks on-site
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to assess issues and implement effective solutions independently
  • Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to liaise professionally with clients, tenants and colleagues
  • Flexibility to work outside normal hours and participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota when required
  • High attention to detail with a focus on delivering quality workmanship and maintaining high standards
  • The Package
    • Earning potential of £50,000 per annum to include rate, overtime and on call. Regular overtime at enhanced hourly rates always available making it easy to earn the OTE advertised.
    • Higher hourly rate of pay than JIB rates as advertised.
    • 22 days plus 8 stat days per annum - increasing with length of service.
