Field Service Engineer
Location: Greater Belfast Area
Salary: £40,000
Hours: Full-Time | Monday-Friday + Rotational Saturday Mornings
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join a leading equipment and machinery provider.
This is a hands‑on role suited to an engineer who enjoys variety, problem‑solving, and working independently. You'll be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing a range of heavy plant and specialist equipment, ensuring customers receive a reliable and responsive service.
The RoleAs a Field Service Engineer, you will carry out planned maintenance, inspections, fault diagnosis, and repairs both on customer sites and within the workshop when required. Working across a wide variety of equipment, you’ll utilise your mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic expertise to minimise downtime and ensure machinery is operating safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Service, maintain, and repair heavy plant and equipment
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
- Carry out preventative maintenance and inspections
- Attend customer sites to respond to breakdowns and service requirements
- Provide technical advice and support to customers
- Complete service reports and maintenance documentation accurately
- Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard
- Support workshop activities when required
- Maintain a professional and customer‑focused approach at all times
Applicants should possess:
- Previous experience repairing plant, construction equipment, agricultural machinery, HGVs, materials handling equipment, powered access equipment, or similar
- Strong mechanical fault‑finding skills
- Knowledge of hydraulics, electrics, and diesel‑powered equipment
- Ability to diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs
- Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving ability
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Full UK driving licence
- Salary of £40,000
