EQUANS is recruiting for a Plumber to be based in Derry / Londonderry. This is a permanent full‑time role working 40 hours per week. The salary is up to £32,000 per annum, plus a van and fuel card and benefits package.
General OverviewThe Plumber is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems and fixtures within residential properties. They ensure all plumbing work is carried out to the highest standards, contributing to the overall functionality and safety of the company properties.
Participation in standby and out of hours work is a requirement of this role.
Key Accountabilities- Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and fittings.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on plumbing systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues, providing effective solutions.
- Install and repair water heaters, boilers, and other plumbing‑related appliances.
- Ensure compliance with current plumbing codes and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, including maintenance logs and safety checks.
- Respond promptly to emergency repair requests and ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Communicate effectively with clients and tenants to explain necessary work and provide maintenance advice.
- Any other reasonable management request.
- Use of PDA system to accurately facilitate the day‑to‑day running of all tasks.
The Plumber’s primary operational role directly impacts the functionality and safety of plumbing systems within tenant properties, contributing to tenant satisfaction and regulatory compliance.
ComplexityThe Plumber handles routine maintenance and repairs independently, while more complex issues or major system overhauls are escalated to senior technicians or supervisors. Decision‑making involves assessing system conditions, prioritising tasks, and selecting appropriate repair methods while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing or equivalent.
- Valid JIB card.
- Basic knowledge of Health & Safety regulations in construction.
- Proven experience in plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair work.
- Knowledge of current plumbing codes and standards.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
