Location: Duncrue (Belfast Harbour)

Rate: £13.50 per hour (after a successful 6‑month review increase to £14.50 per hour)

Hours of work
: 7am to 7pm – 4 days completed between Monday to Friday.

Applicants would need to be flexible with client working hours as they may be required to work overtime at weekends or during busy periods.

As a Stevedoring Labourer, you'll work alongside experienced operators and supervisors, assisting with vessel operations and supporting day‑to‑day cargo handling activities. No two days are the same, and you'll gain valuable hands‑on experience in a dynamic port environment.

Your duties will include:
  • Assisting with slinging and hooking operations in accordance with safe work practices.
  • Boarding vessels to help load and unload cargo.
  • Preparing work sites and cargo handling areas for daily operations.
  • Maintaining clean, organised, and safe work areas.
  • Assisting with the movement and securing of cargo and materials.
  • Working closely with supervisors, crane operators, and fellow crew members.
  • Following all safety procedures and wearing the required PPE.
  • Carrying out any other duties assigned to support daily operational requirements.

Essential Criteria:
  • Previous experience in labouring, construction, stevedoring, or heavy plant industry
  • Willing and able to perform duties on board vessels, including working above and below deck in varying weather conditions.
