Job Title: Shuttering Carpenter / Formwork Carpenter

Location: Tilbury, Essex

Rate: 23.00 - 26.00 per hour

Duration: Ongoing / End of year

We are looking for experienced Shuttering Carpenters to join a major civil engineering project in Tilbury. You will be working on reinforced concrete structures, responsible for constructing high-quality timber and system formwork according to engineering drawings.

• Constructing and installing timber formwork, panel systems (e.g., Peri, Doka, MEVA), columns, beams, and slab decks.

• Reading and working directly from technical drawings and structural blueprints.

• Securing formwork with ties, anchors, and props to withstand concrete pouring.

• Stripping (striking) formwork safely after concrete curing.

• Maintaining high standards of site safety and structural quality.

• Proven experience as a Shuttering / Formwork Carpenter on commercial or civil sites.

• Relevant trade qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Formwork, CSCS Blue/Gold Card, or equivalent national certs).

• Full set of hand tools and 110V/cordless power tools suitable for formwork.

• Strong understanding of site safety protocols (SSTS/SMSTS desirable but not essential).

• Valid work authorization and checkable site references.
