We’re looking to employ a team of two motivated enthusiastic multi-trade operatives to join our small but fast paced team in Scotland.
About the Role:The multi-trade site operatives will be responsible for performing a range of skilled construction tasks across various trades, including roofing, carpentry, and general maintenance. The role requires versatile individuals with a broad skills set who can adapt to different tasks and projects, ensuring high standards of workmanship and adherence to safety protocols.
You will be based from home, but cover North/South Ayrshire, Edinburgh and Glasgow. This role does require that you need to be on call over the weekends.
Responsibilities:- Prepare construction sites, including cleaning debris and setting up materials.
- Assist in demolition tasks when necessary
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness on site.
- Conduct routine and preventative maintenance tasks on construction sites and equipment.
- Address minor repairs and maintenance issues promptly
- Perform roofing tasks, including repairs and installations, including, but not limited to:
- Pitched roofs: slate, tiles & metals
- Flat roofs: felts, single ply membrane, liquid coatings
- Inspect roofs for damage and determine necessary repairs
- Present and report further opportunities to the project team for longevity of the roof coverings
Qualifications:
- Work at heights
- Rooftop Safety
- Manual Handling
- UKATA Asbestos Awareness
- CSCS Card
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in roofing work
- Full UK Drivers Licence
- Enhanced DBS Check
- Relevant trade qualifications

Skills:
- Proven experience in multiple construction trades, with roofing skills as a core requirement.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and health and safety regulations
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints
- Excellent problem solving and attention to detail
- Adaptable and flexible to meet the demands of different projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines and deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Be able to coordinate, communicate effectively to minimise disruption to school operations with school staff.
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labour
- Committed to delivering high-quality work and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Work is primarily performed on live Education buildings, which may involve exposure to various weather conditions.
- The role may require lifting heavy materials, standing for extended periods and performing physically demanding tasks.
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory
