Chief Accountant Belgium

Facil Europe is currently looking for a Chief Accountant to support the finance team in the headquarters in Genk
.

As the chief accountant you will be responsible for the statutory accounting and tax compliance of Facil Europe BV, (incl. foreign branches), Facil Holding BV and Facil Corporate BV.

Our team goal is to drive accurate and timely accounting, in order to support the business for good and concise decision making. You will take on a key role in our Europe accounting team in order to reach that goal, together with the Finance Manager, AR, AP and GL accountants.

In addition to the technical aspects of the role, you will take on an important supporting and coaching function within the team. Leveraging your experience and expertise, you will support and coach colleagues, promote best practices, and contribute to the ongoing development of a high-performing finance organization.

You will report directly to the Finance Manager Europe. Working together with your international colleagues across the different departments will make your job challenging and impact full.

• Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting
• Up to date knowledge on tax and VAT
• 5 to 10 years of experience in the same role or a senior GL accountant role, preferable in a multinational company
• Strong knowledge of Belgian accounting principles and practices
• Experience with:
  • Taxation, corporate tax, and VAT
  • Audits
  • Financial closings
  • Statutory accounting
  • Payroll accounting
    
    Fixed asset accounting
• Comfortable switching between detailed execution and a broader strategic perspective
• Willing to share knowledge and support the development of colleagues
• Customer and business focus & flexible mindset
• Strong knowledge of ERP (preferably SAP S/4 HANA) is a plus
• Fluent knowledge of English (written and spoken)
