We are seeking an Accountant to join a skilled finance team and take ownership of a portfolio of entities, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial processes while driving improvements and automation.
Role overviewYou will join a team of accountants, each responsible for their own entities, and report to the Finance Manager. You will be accountable for end-to-end accounting for your assigned entities: maintaining high-quality bookkeeping and reporting, identifying and resolving discrepancies, coordinating supplier payments, ensuring compliance with VAT and reporting obligations, and contributing to process optimization initiatives. The role requires close collaboration with Finance, Purchasing and local site colleagues and provides regular contact with suppliers and international finance peers.
Keyresponsibilities
- Manage purchase invoice processing at scale (approximately several thousand invoices annually), maintaining clear oversight and control
- Execute supplier payments and follow up on payment-related queries
- Ensure accurate VAT administration and statutory reporting, including VAT returns, customer listings and Intrastat declarations
- Perform month-end and year-end closing tasks, including accruals/provisions and intercompany reconciliations
- Support and advise internal and international colleagues on financial matters
- Act as a primary point of contact for suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives and provide ad-hoc support to the finance function as required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance or equivalent practical experience (minimum several years)
- Experience with SAP FI is highly desirable; familiarity with digital document management systems (e.g., Docu Ware) is a plus
- Strong Excel and general Microsoft Office skills
- Analytical thinker with a continuous-improvement mindset; comfortable challenging and enhancing existing practices
- Meticulous, organized and able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Effective communicator with internal and external stakeholders
- Comfortable working in an international environment and managing complexity
- Language requirements: fluent in Country, working proficiency in Person;
