About Precious Metals RefiningThe world’s resources are scarce. Umicore’s refining and recycling technology gives used metals a new lease of life. We are experts in treating the most complex materials from around the world. Our processes help bring value to the circular economy and reduce environmental impacts. To recover more metal from different types of material we cannot stand still. We need to find new ways to do things, discover new solutions and develop new processes.
Which is where you come in.
In the frame of Umicore Precious Metals Refining (UPMR) commercial activities, you will work on strategic projects(2-7 years) that enhance the market position of UPMR and enable decision making in a data-driven way. Capturing market intelligence is key. You will represent UPMR in the recycling markets by participating to different industry or academic conferences and work groups related to the general recycling topics.
You will report to the Manager of Market Strategy and Business Development.
- You collaborate with adjacent teams and stakeholders to look for innovative strategic approaches to improve UPMR’s market position.
- You participate in identifying and creating strategic alliances and identify new business opportunities.
- You manage data models and can translate them into recommendations for decision making.
- You participate actively in work groups and workshops with Universities, Industry Associations, collection networks, National and Local authorities to collect information on recycling and secondary markets.
- You perform research on our competitors to gather competitive intelligence.
- You have a master’s degree in Business, Science, or Engineering and have at least 2 years of work experience in a field of metallurgy.
- You are a logical and critical thinker and can understand and challenge market and economical concepts. You have both the big picture in mind while being focused on details.
- You have strong presentation skills, including advanced PowerPoint competences.
- You are data-driven and have modeling experience. Advanced Excel skills is a must.
- You have strong text writing and reporting skills.
- You are multilingual (English is a must, other languages eg Dutch, French, German are a plus). International experience is a plus.
- You have good planning and organization skills to balance different projects and milestones. You are able to adapt and change priorities in a flexible way.
- You are willing to travel abroad (10%).
