Position: Business Analyst · Mechelen ·
Location: Town of Belgium

At Protime, we help organizations across Europe manage time in a smarter, more meaningful way. With our Workforce Management solutions, we empower companies to boost efficiency, stay compliant, and unlock the full potential of their people.

Our motto?
Make time valuable. Our ambition? To become Europe’s #1 Workforce Management provider
.

To get there, we need clarity in complexity, and that’s where you come in.

What you will do as a Business Analyst at Protime

Your mission:
Help Protime make high‑quality product decisions by providing clarity, context, and evidence across complex European Workforce Management domains.

As a Business Analyst focusing on Strategic Discovery
, you play a crucial role in shaping the future of our products. You enable better, faster, and more scalable product decisions.

You operate primarily in the problem space
, uncovering what truly matters across European markets, regulations, and customer needs. Your mission is to bring structure to ambiguity, ensuring we solve the right problems before we build solutions.

You will work closely with Product Management, Engineering, Legal, Country Leads, Sales, and customers, all while reporting discovery insights to our Product Excellence team.

Your responsibilities include:
Strategic Discovery
  • Explore the European WFM landscape: market practices, labor regulations, customer workflows, and emerging patterns.
  • Conduct desk research and stakeholder interviews.
  • Build insights that distinguish scalable product needs from country‑specific constraints.
Problem Framing
  • Turn scattered information into clear, testable problem statements.
  • Define context, scope, users, assumptions, risks, and success criteria.
  • Identify patterns across countries and avoid local optimization traps.
Synthesis & Evidence‑Based Decision Support
  • Separate facts from hypotheses and noise from insights.
  • Build and maintain opportunity backlogs, decision logs, and traceable rationale.
  • Support the creation of lightweight experiments and validation approaches.
Collaboration & Shaping
  • Work alongside Product Managers, Product Owners, Architects, and Engineers to shape coherent MVP definitions.
  • Facilitate discovery workshops (journey mapping, story mapping, event storming, opportunity mapping).
  • Bring GDPR, labor law, and data ethics considerations into early discovery.
Your skills and mindset

We’re looking for someone who thrives in complexity and enjoys making sense of it; a strategic thinker with strong analytical capabilities and excellent communication skills.

Experience
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Business Analysis or Product Discovery (WFM, HR Tech, payroll, or other regulated environments are a plus).
  • Proven experience framing complex problems and shaping MVPs with measurable outcomes.
  • Familiarity with discovery techniques and product methodologies.
Mindset
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and diverse regulatory environments.
  • Strong systems thinker with a passion for problem framing over solutioning.
  • Able to influence without authority and communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders (C1/C2 English required). Dutch knowledge is a plus.
  • Motivated to understand (or learn) the intricacies of Workforce Management across Europe.
What do we offer you?

Basic gross salary between €3,500 and €4,500 per month, depending on experience.

Benefits package:
  • Company car with fuel/charging card
  • Net expense allowance
  • Meal vouchers & eco vouchers
  • Hospitalization and group insurance
  • Year‑end bonus & annual performance bonus
  • Mobile subscription & device voucher
  • Flex Income Plan (FIP / cafeteria plan)
  • 40‑hour workweek with 12 additional ADV/ROW days
Why join Protime?

At Protime, you get the chance to grow, experiment, and truly make an impact
. We value collaboration and camaraderie. Together, we get things done. You’ll receive autonomy and ownership but never stand alone.

  • Hybrid working: from home and from our Mechelen HQ
  • Flexible hours: we focus on output, not clock‑watching
  • A dynamic environment where new ideas are encouraged
  • Fast decision‑making and short lines of communication
  • A culture of continuous learning, coaching, and professional growth

You’ll never have “just another day at the office.” Every day brings new insights, challenges, and opportunities to influence how we build the future of Workforce Management in Europe.
