Ports Safety Coordinator - Level 1

The Health and Safety department encompasses all aspects of compliance, data analysis, product documentation, and reporting within the H&S area and has many stakeholders in the organization, both locally and internationally.

With a drive to influence behavioural change, we are looking for a colleague who will play a key role in coordinating all aspects related to fostering a healthy environment culture and improve health and safety across our organization. Reporting directly to the local management team, CLO, COO, you will assist in establishing and coordinating across the different BU, Shipping, Cargo, Ports and Tech.

You will have to communicate new procedures and processes and therefore work closely with the Senior Management and the Health & Safety officers across the whole organization.

Within this challenging position, you will be in charge of the following tasks:

• Work actively with internal stakeholders in the review of H&S related projects and operations to ensure compliance with EU and local legislation;
• Monitor changes to legislation and informing operations and management about developments on a Group level;
• Manage HS documentation and update internal databases;
• Update and maintain incoming incident reports;
• Collection of data for reporting;
• Assist in production, implementation and enhancement of H&S policies and programs;
• Assist in HS activities such as internal audits and local workshops;
• Prepare educational seminars and webinars on a regular basis;
• Identify process bottlenecks and offer timely solutions;
• Assist in the Conduction of risk assessments;
• Work with HR to set up a new employee on-boarding process for safety;

• You have a proven hands‑on experience in a similar role;
• You hold a University degree and a H&S certification Level 1;
• You have a solid knowledge of EU regulations;
• You have good writing skills and the ability to manage time well, prioritise effectively, and handle multiple deadlines;
• You are proactive with an excellent business oriented judgment;
• You have strong communication skills and can easily collaborate with internal clients, external partners, and other stakeholders including Senior Management;
• You have an experience of working in an international and multicultural organisation and the ability to work unsupervised;
• You are fluent in English and Dutch, other languages are considered as an advantage;
• You have advanced skills in MS Office;
• Regular traveling in Europe will be required.
