The candidate will be required to coordinate the organization andthe pedagogical supervision of a number of courses and activities of the Master's in Theatre and Cinema Studies, in dialogue with all the professors and other colleagues concerned (supervision ofexercises,correctionof exams,organizationofevaluation and feedback sessions, pedagogical monitoring of the preparatory work for the master thesis).More generally,he/she will assist the(Vice-)Presidencyinthe implementation of the Master's program in Theatre and Cinema Studies.

Certain logistical tasks (such as participation in the monitoring of written exams) are part ofthis mandate. The total teaching and logistical support workload will be a maximum of 900 hours per year, including a maximum of 300 hours of presence in front of students.

Amandate ofassistantis granted forafirsttermof2years,renewableafter2other periodsof2yearsmaximum with the validation of the PhD thesis supervision committee.

The objectiveofmandatebeingtocarry outand deliver a doctoral thesis, the tasks will be equally distributed between “Teaching” and “Research” for a volume of 0.50 FTE for each of the two parts of the mandate.

Regarding the doctoral thesis project, it will prioritize innovative reflections, opening new perspectives to enrich current and future research in the following areas: cinema, documentary, television series, live performance, and animated film (and their syncretisms). To this end, the project will focus on objects and sources that have been little or not at all studied, from which a precise research problem and question will be developed—focusing on a clearly defined theme, delimited geographically and historically situated.

Proposals of an interdisciplinary nature, connecting the issues of live performance and cinema or studying the interferences between these fields and adjacent cultural practices (installations, video games, etc.), are encouraged. The originality of the project and the proposed approach will be a central criterion in the project evaluation, as will its grounding in a corpus of sources and/or a concrete fieldwork.

120credits intheatre and/or cinema studies (Master en arts du spectacle) and meet the conditions for admission to a doctorate.

Skills required

Good knowledge of the scientific methods and writing; good teaching potential;in-depth knowledge ofthehistory,theories andaesthetics ofcinema and theatre studies; scientific autonomy and genuine motivation and aptitude for research and the preparation of athesisin the domainof film studies; perfect command of French and good command of English.

Courses covered

The candidate will be invited to be assistant in the courses mentioned below (non-exhaustive list, to be reviewed annually). The tasks (educational,administrativeandlogistical) will bedetermined indialoguewiththe (Vice-)Presidencyofthe Master,andmay be re-examinedhasregularly.
