ASSIGNMENTThe faculty of Engineering and Architecture has a vacancy for a professorship, starting from February 1, 2027. It concerns a full-time position as Professor in the rank of Assistant Professor (docent, Tenure Track) in the Department of Electronics and Information Systems, charged with academic teaching, scientific research and institutional and societal engagement in the field of Chip Design of Analog Circuits and Systems.
The position, funded by the Special Research Fund, is granted the privilege of focusing primarily on research for a period of 5 years. During that period the teaching load will be limited to no more than 8 ECTS credits per semester on average over a period of 3 years.

Academic researchYou conduct innovative and internationally recognized research in the field of Analog Integrated Circuits and Systems Design, with a focus on interfacing between sensors and advanced digital circuits. You have expertise in analog-to-digital conversion, preferably in the context of sensor readout (high accuracy). Preferably, you also have experience with the co-integration of digital functions to complement analog functions or to correct errors and imperfections of the analog circuits in the digital domain (e.g., calibration).
Academiceducation
You lecture course units in the discipline of Chip Design of Analog Circuits and Systems. These course units are offered in the Bachelor and Master of Science in Electrical Engineering. Possible topics range from analog circuits and building blocks to the advanced design of integrated circuits.
Institutional and societal engagementBased on your expertise and experience, you will contribute to the university's operations and/or take on external assignments.
PROFILE AND SELECTION CRITERIAYou have a strong CV with international visibility in the requested field:
- your research achievements have contributed to the development of the field (e.g. publications, artifacts, other academic and non-academic achievements);
- you have hands-on experience in the Chip Design of Analog Circuits and Systems, preferably in modern technologies;
- you are capable to formulate research projects, to acquire the necessary funding for them, and to execute them successfully;
- you are capable to build your own research team, and to advise PhD students;
- you are didactically skilled to develop academic competences with engineering students;
- international mobility is recommended.
You work in a collaborative way and integrate smoothly into the research group/department. You look for opportunities inside and outside the university and actively use your network to do so.
