Bio Blue operates one of Belgium's most advanced biomethane production facilities in Ieper, where organic residual streams are transformed into renewable biomethane and green electricity. As we continue to contribute to the energy transition, we are looking for a Technical Operator to strengthen our operations team.
In this role, you will help operate and optimise our production facility, ensuring that installations run safely, efficiently and reliably. Working alongside a team of experienced operators, you will receive extensive on‑the‑job training and gradually take ownership of the full production process.
Once fully trained, you will participate in the on‑call rotation and become a key contributor to the continuous production of renewable energy.
Profile- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biotechnology, Agricultural Technology, or equivalent through experience
- Motivated starters and recent graduates are welcome to apply
- Fluent in Dutch
- Strong technical interest and willingness to learn
- Accurate, responsible and safety‑conscious
- Hands‑on problem solver with a proactive attitude
- Team player with good communication skills
- Willing to participate in a rotating on‑call system after completing the internal training programme
- Living within approximately 30 minutes of the Iepersite or willing to relocate
- An extensive internal training programme guided by experienced operators, preparing you to independently operate the installation

- Start up, adjust and monitor production installations to ensure stable and efficient operations
- Perform routine quality and process checks and respond proactively to deviations
- Carry out first‑line preventive maintenance, inspections and cleaning activities
- Diagnose and resolve first‑line technical and process‑related issues
- Report technical findings and production performance to the operations team
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and operational procedures at all times
- Collaborate closely with fellow operators to guarantee smooth shift handovers and continuous plant performance
- Participate in the on‑call rotation after successfully completing the internal training programme, ensuring the installation remains operational outside normal working hours
