Postdoctoral Researcher 300 mm GaN MOCVD What you will do
Responsibilities include developing and optimizing
Metal-Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition (MOCVD) processes forGaN-based High Electron Mobility Transistors (HEMTs) on300 mmsilicon. Successrequiresstrong teamwork, thinking outside the boxand supporting colleagues withinimec’sinterdisciplinary R&D structure. Project updates will be shared internally, presented at international conferences, and published in top journals.
As a postdoctoral researcher in epitaxial growth, you will be responsible for the following:
- Develop and optimize
MOCVD growth processes for AlGaN/GaNbased heterostructures on large-diameter substrates (e.g.,300 mmSi substrates). - Execute and/or interpret structural and optoelectronic characterizations, such as X-ray diffraction, photoluminescence, Hall effect measurements, atomic force microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and secondary-ion mass spectrometry, and correlate these material properties with growth parameters to optimize the process further.
- Investigate defect reduction strategies, manage integrated layer strain, andoptimizewafer bow control to ensure the deposition of high-quality devices on large-diameter substrates.
- Collaborate with colleagues from the integration and device team to guarantee that the device stacks meet the electrical performance targets for theGaNHEMTs.
- Gain a deep understanding of the physical and chemical processes that govern epitaxial growth dynamics and device behavior.
- Share and discuss your R&D results and fundamental understanding with your team and interdisciplinary project colleagues during frequent meetings.
- Support your epitaxy team members with your scientificexpertisein their projects.
- Report on your work to internal and external partners at international conferences. Publish key results in scientific journals and transformnew ideasinto intellectual property (IP).
Growth andcharacterisationactivities are primarily carried out inimec’s200 and 300mmcleanrooms.
Duration of this postdoctoral position will be 2 years.
