IT Infrastructure Engineer

As an IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will be the backbone of our internal systems. You will take ownership of the Microsoft ecosystem (Server, AD, Exchange/O365) and physical hardware, while acting as the technical liaison for our Managed Service Provider regarding our virtualized environment.

We are looking for someone who excels at on-premise Windows administration but is also eager to support our gradual transition toward Microsoft Azure.

1. Microsoft Ecosystem Management

• Active Directory:
  Manage and maintain the health of multi-site Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), including Group Policies (GPO), DNS, and DHCP.
• Windows Server:
  Oversee the lifecycle of Windows Servers (2016/2019/2022), including provisioning, patching, hardening, and troubleshooting.
• Identity Management:
  Bridge on-premise AD with Entra  (Azure AD) to ensure seamless identity synchronization (Azure AD Connect).

2. Hardware & Infrastructure

• HPE Hardware:
  Manage the physical lifecycle of our server infrastructure (HPE Pro Liant/Synergy), including firmware updates, iLO management, and physical racking/stacking when required.
• Hybrid Cloud:
  Assist in the deployment and maintenance of Azure resources (IaaS/PaaS) as we expand our cloud footprint.
• Act as the primary technical point of contact for our Managed Service Provider (MSP) regarding the VMware vSphere environment and Veeam backup solutions.
• Monitor MSP performance to ensure SLAs are met regarding backup integrity and virtualization uptime.
• Collaborate with the MSP on capacity planning and major upgrade projects (e.g., vCenter upgrades).

4. Automation & Security

• Utilize Power Shell to automate repetitive administrative tasks and reporting.
• Ensure all infrastructure components adhere to security best practices and compliance standards.

Technical

Skills:

• Expert Knowledge:
  Windows Server environments, Active Directory (Forest/Domain architecture), and Core Network Services (DNS, DHCP, DFS).
• Strong Knowledge:
  Microsoft 365 administration and Entra  (Azure AD).
• Hardware Familiarity:
  Experience with HPE server hardware and management tools (iLO/One View).
• Virtualization:
  Solid understanding of VMware ESXi/vCenter.
  
  Note:
  
  You do not need to be an architect, but you must understand the technology well enough to validate the MSP's work.
• Backup:
  Understanding of backup principles (Veeam experience is a plus).
• Scripting:
  Proficiency in Power Shell for task automation.
• Cloud:
  Foundational knowledge of Microsoft Azure is highly desirable.

Soft Skills:

• Language:
  Fluent in English (Corporate language). Knowledge of French or Dutch is a strong asset.
• Problem Solver:
  Analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a global environment.
• Communicator:
  Ability to explain technical constraints to non-technical stakeholders and manage vendor relationships effectively.
