Diegem# Computer Engineer## Your Role As an HPC Hardware Performance Researcher, you will investigate software-hardware codesign innovations for next-generation artificial intelligence high performance computing systems.
Working within our Compute System Architecture Unit, you'll research cutting-edge large-scale heterogeneous computer architectures to achieve multiple orders of magnitude improvements in performance, energy-efficiency, and  this role you will play a key role in:
* Researching innovative solutions for next-generation large-scale high-performance computing clusters, spanning from workload characterization to system architecture and microarchitecture
* Developing comprehensive performance models (including power/TCO/emissions) at various detail levels to identify bottlenecks and propose breakthrough solutions
* Capturing relevant workload characteristics of AI in HPC applications as inputs to hardware models
* Analyzing performance on existing systems to validate and calibrate hardware models
* Collaborating across the company to guide HPC hardware/software codesign based on identified hardware issues and software performance limiters
* Modeling features and configurations that improve performance, power, total cost of ownership and emissions## Your Profile
* Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or relevant STEM field, preferably with early career experience
* Experience with performance analysis of HPC applications such as molecular dynamics or computational fluid dynamics
* Experience with performance modeling for multiple types of computer hardware (e.g., CPU/GPU/NPU, or network design)
* Good understanding of heterogeneous system architectures, from memory management to microarchitecture
* Strong programming ability in C++ and Python, with CUDA knowledge considered a plus
