R&T Design Leader; M​/F​/X

For a set of R&T Projects Design activities, so as to comply with the schedule needs, the defined budget and the technical scope and constraints (customer specification, environment, interfaces & frontier boundaries), you are responsible for the concepts and detailed Design Solutions of the technology demonstrators and/or Low TRL products to be developed/manufactured/tested.

You may be directly involved in the detailed studies or manage a team of one to several designers. At the project team level, you are directly interacting with the other specialists and are organizing the design reviews in order to develop & present the concepts, support their evaluation and selection (TRL maturity reviews), contribute to the progressive validation of technical choices, build and freeze of the detailed definition.

You are responsible for the Design deliverables, mainly materialized through the 3D models (Digital Mock-Up), the Definition Dossiers (drawings or 3D annotated files, Bill Of Material), product structures and specific design justification analysis (weight & inertia, tolerances, interfaces & frontier, check lists). You are also contributing to Failure Modes Analysis and product compliance evaluations. Whenever applicable, Key Performance Indicators are required so as to support the Quality/Budget-Expenses/Schedule so as to control and to communicate on your R&T Design team and its progress within the project.

• Capture the customer critical performance criteria ;
• Identification of customer detailed design requirements related to interfaces, allowed space allocation, generic & special functions ;
• Generation of global (architecture, major WPs) and local (sub-assemblies, detailed parts) concepts, design principles and detailed design (definition dossiers), compliant with the defined manufacturing solution ;
• Identification of critical / key characteristics of the products and the possible Design Solutions, by specific variation analysis ;
• Development of static space allocations or moveable items swept volumes ;
• Development of the Product Structures, with weight evaluations ;
• Detailed definition of compatible geometrical characteristics, tolerances, materials, processes, changes, interfaces & frontier data;
• Organization of Digital Mock-Up Reviews ;
• Contribution to product & tests specifications ;
• Contribution to the internal and external formal product maturity reviews (concept selection, TRLs, PDR, CDR, TRR, others) and their preparation ;
• Contribution to Failure Modes Analysis and product compliance evaluations;
• Compilation of Design documentations and reports;
• Support to the Project Leader by an adequate Design representation for internal technical and organizational meetings, subcontractors and customers exchanges;
• When applicable for the projects (scope/schedule), management of the project Design team through technical coordination (sprint methodology, team board cards), subcontracting (if required), workload/capability analysis ;
• Pro‑active and autonomous documentation for technologies state‑of‑art, new ideas generation, brainstorming meeting organization ;
• Budget / ETCs control for himself and its team (WPs sheets, deltas)
• Reporting of progress status, plan and risks to management (monthly 4 boxes)
