Position: Project Engineer(m/f/d)
Location: Town of Belgium

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineer with a strong background in Building Management Systems (BMS) to lead and deliver complex projects from concept and design through to commissioning. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in BMS design, implementation and commissioning, advanced knowledge of platforms such as Niagara N4 or CPO Studio, and expertise in third‑party system integrations.

And Responsibilities
  • The Junior Lead Project Engineer supports Project Managers and Supervisors in delivering the required technical design concepts, documentation, and performance on assigned projects, including the development and delivery of BMS software based on approved engineering documentation, and leading and executing commissioning activities.
  • Design and develop technical concept BMS for building automation projects, implementation and documentation. Identify customer needs and translate them into workable solutions.
  • Produce detailed design deliverables based on specifications and construction drawings – schematics, component selection, system architecture, software control strategies and third‑party integration plans for HVAC systems. Take ownership of technical execution and overall project performance.
  • Lead and execute commissioning activities to validate system functionality, performance and regulatory compliance. Coordinate and supervise internal and external project engineering teams as required, and provide technical support throughout project execution and commissioning.
  • Ensure all engineered solutions comply with applicable standards and meet the highest levels of performance, quality and reliability. Deliver clear handovers to engineering and implementation teams.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, clients and suppliers, providing technical expertise to define, review and refine project requirements, and support project planning, scheduling and quality assurance activities.
  • Act as a team player by actively sharing knowledge and experience within the engineering team and participating in customer meetings to provide expert input on automation solutions.
Profile
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in complex BMS project environments, with demonstrated ability to lead and take responsibility.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electromechanics, Electrical Engineering, Automation or equivalent through experience.
  • Experience with building automation systems and third‑party integration (BACnet, Modbus, DALI, KNX, etc.).
  • Proficiency in using CPO Studio and/or N4 for control logic development and configuration.
  • Good understanding of IT infrastructure and how remote systems interconnect. Demonstrates a proactive approach and a can‑do attitude, organized, logical and able to meet delivery deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills, with the ability to find solutions to complex problems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client and team interactions.
  • Knowledge of Visio, Excel, Word, AutoCAD, EPLAN or other design software is an asset.
  • Fluent in Dutch, French and English.
