At Blue Foot Membranes
, you will play a key role in the installation, commissioning and operational follow-up of our M pilot systems, as well as in the technical start-up of commercial installations across the Benelux, Germany and wider Europe.
You will work closely with customers, OEM partners, system builders, and internal teams across application development, R&D and sales. This is a hands-on, field-oriented role for someone who enjoys combining technical expertise with practical execution
Your roleAs a Pilot & Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for both pilot installations and commercial commissioning support
.
You will install and start up pilot systems on-site, monitor performance, collect operational data and carry out testing and maintenance activities. Once pilots are completed, you will ensure proper decommissioning and reporting of results to the research team.
In parallel, you will support the start-up of commercial M installations, advising on correct membrane installation and operation, and ensuring a smooth and successful commissioning process for the customer.
You will be part of the Application Development team and report directly to the CTO or Application Development Lead
.
Pilot installations & application development
- Install pilot systems on-site and support start-up in collaboration with local operators
- Monitor system performance through remote follow-up and on-site activities
- Collect operational data and perform testing, analysis and maintenance
- Develop and execute application test protocols as part of pilot and R&D plans
- Ensure reliable and consistent pilot operation to generate high-quality data
- Decommission pilot systems at the end of testing campaigns
- Document and report results and insights to the research team
Commissioning of commercial M installations
- Support start-up and commissioning of commercial M installations using Blue Foot membranes
- Advise customers, OEMs and system builders on correct membrane installation and operation
- Assist with on-site start-up procedures and troubleshooting
- Provide on-site training to end users when required
- Report commissioning results and feedback to internal teams and customers
Documentation & collaboration
- Create and maintain standardized test protocols and reporting structures
- Contribute to improving and standardizing commissioning methodologies
- Provide high-quality data to support technical recommendations and customer solutions
- Share knowledge and insights with internal technical and commercial teams
- Collaborate closely with application, R&D and sales support to strengthen our technical offering
- You have a strong technical background and enjoy hands-on field work
- You are solution-oriented, flexible and comfortable in a dynamic environment
- You have several years of experience with membrane systems or comparable installations
- Experience with ultrafiltration (UF/M ) or wastewater treatment is a strong advantage
- You have basic knowledge of mechanics, electrical systems and chemical or biological processes
- You have experience supporting commissioning or start-up activities
- Knowledge of CAD software or switch gear is a plus
- You can work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- You are fluent in English (written and spoken);
Dutch and/or German is a plus - You are willing to travel regularly within Europe for on-site work
