Job descriptionAs Electronics Purchaser you ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, components, and services. This role supports procurement activities, negotiates with suppliers, and maintains documentation to ensure alignment with project needs and compliance standards. You have a unique impact on the quality and timeline of our space projects.
Responsibilities- Executes purchasing activities for assigned categories.
- Requests and evaluates supplier quotations keeping a critical mindset and focus on improving the efficiency of purchases.
- Negotiates pricing, terms, and delivery schedules and ensures timely acquisition of materials and services.
- Maintains supplier records and documentation to define clear responsibilities and to ensure quality of incoming goods.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Engineering on delivery planning.
- Monitor purchase orders and resolve delivery issues while ensuring transparency towards our project managers.
- Support compliance by ensuring the application of procurement policies.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in purchasing processes.
- Advises as expert and supports various departments in purchases of soft- and hardware.
- Bachelor degree in a technical field or equivalent by experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in purchasing or adjacent field. Experience in space or electronics is considered a plus.
- Strong affinity for electronics is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop long term supplier relationships.
- Ability to keep a helicopter view across projects and good administrative skills.
- Not afraid to take initiative and show ownership to improve our processes.
- Fluency in English.
- A love for space is considered a big plus.
- Experience with export control.
- Knowledge of Dutch or French is an asset.
Redwire’s Antwerp facility is Made for the Mission, delivering advanced European-led technologies that enable some of humanity’s most ambitious missions in LEO and deep space. The team developed the state-of-the-art International Berthing and Docking Mechanism (IBDM), a fully computer-controlled autonomous docking system aligned with international standards and built for both heavy and lightweight spacecraft. Antwerp is also home to the LEO Hammerhead small satellite platform—an evolution of the highly reliable PROBA line—capable of supporting up to 70-kg payloads and optimized for shared launch opportunities.
As pioneers behind influential missions like PROBA-1, PROBA-3, and PROBA-V, the facility continues to lead Europe’s advancement in autonomous spacecraft operations and precision formation flying.
