Data Analyst; Brussel

The consultant will operate in a complex financial environment, working closely with and for the Group Risk and Group Treasury department to ensure accuracy, consistency, and transparency across reporting processes.

• Contribute to and support risk and treasury testing process based on risk and treasury calculations and reporting processes, with a strong understanding of how financial instruments behave.
• Apply your expertise in valuation of financial instruments and financial or regulatory reporting to interpret and validate complex data sets.
• Perform deep dives into data, identifying root causes of data quality and reconciliation issues with other reporting systems in support and cooperation with the Risk and Treasury business teams.
• Investigate and resolve reconciliation discrepancies across different data sources and reporting layers.
• Develop, maintain, and improve data‑related documentation, including:
  • Data lineage documentation
  • Data dictionaries
  • Metadata and process documentation
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders while working autonomously in a result‑oriented consulting setup.

• Proven experience in data engineering or data analysis within a financial institution or a closely related environment.
• Strong understanding of banking business and financial products.

• Working knowledge of risk calculations and regulatory reporting, or financial reporting.
• Working knowledge of IRRBB or liquidity risk.
• Proficiency in SQL for data analysis and investigation.
• Experience working with QS.
• Hands‑on experience with Risk Pro or a comparable risk reporting / calculation tool.
• Good knowledge of data modeling methodologies for data warehouses and data marts (considered a plus).
• Experience with JIRA and Confluence is a plus.

• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail, including the ability to foresee issues in documentation and progress reporting.
• Comfortable performing root‑cause analyses and working with complex datasets.
• Able to work autonomously, take ownership, and deliver results in a demanding environment.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
