You are a finance professional with at least three years of experience and a passion for the public and/or non‑profit sector. In this role you will take an active part in the entire accounting process, coordinating year‑end closing, supporting colleagues with operational financial tasks, and translating financial insights into concrete actions for stakeholders.
Responsibilities- Coordinate A to Z accounting and the year‑end closing.
- Act as the primary point of contact for audit activities and for external stakeholders such as banks, insurance companies and government bodies.
- Draft, manage and monitor budgets and multi‑year plans, analyzing deviations and providing recommendations.
- Conduct ad‑hoc financial analyses, for example on the profitability of new reporting initiatives.
- Provide financial advice for important projects and decisions, placing numbers in a broader context to support the organisation’s financial health.
- Leverage experience with project and change management to support organisational initiatives.
- Participate in projects across Flanders, adapting to flexible locations and hybrid working arrangements.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- At least three years of experience in financial management, preferably within the public or non‑profit sector.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Experience with local taxation and levies is a major advantage.
- Knowledge of BBC regulations and the related legal framework strengthens your candidacy.
- Experience in local government is a plus.
- Analytical multitasker who places numbers in a broader perspective.
- Meticulous and detail‑oriented, ensuring processes are completed correctly from start to finish.
- Hands‑on mentality combined with a goal‑oriented, solution‑driven approach.
