Role Overview:

The SSA for Large Deals is a senior, client-facing CSS Pre-sales leader responsible for shaping, leading, and closing for Oracle’s largest CSS opportunities across application and infrastructure domains. This role sits at the intersection of sales, solution architecture, delivery, and commercial governance, ensuring that client needs are translated into compelling, profitable, and deliverable solutions (e.g. Managed Services).

The SSA Large Deals acts as the single Pre-sales owner for large and strategic pursuits, providing end-to-end leadership from initial qualification through contract signature, while laying the foundation for successful service transition and delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and lead the pre-sales lifecycle for large, complex, and multi-domain (managed) services opportunities.
  • Serve as the primary engagement lead and trusted advisor for executive-level client stakeholders during the pursuit phase.
  • Drive deal strategy, win themes, value propositions, and differentiation aligned with client business outcomes.

Solution & Commercial Design

  • Orchestrate the design of end-to-end solutions, integrating application and infrastructure services with automation, tooling, and transformation roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with solution architects, delivery leaders, and SMEs to ensure solutions are scalable, resilient, and aligned with best practices.
  • Lead the commercial structuring of deals, including pricing models, cost baselines, margin targets, risk assumptions, SLAs, and contractual terms.
  • Ensure solutions are deliverable, commercially viable, and compliant with internal governance and risk frameworks.

Client Engagement & Value Creation

  • Engage C-level and senior IT/business leaders to understand strategic objectives, operating models, and transformation priorities.
  • Position managed services as a strategic enabler for cost optimization, operational excellence, resilience, and innovation.
  • Facilitate workshops, executive briefings, and value discussions to shape client vision and influence buying decisions.
  • Lead internal deal governance, approvals, and reviews, ensuring alignment across sales, finance, legal, and delivery.
  • Identify and manage deal risks, assumptions, and dependencies, proposing mitigation strategies where required.
  • Ensure seamless handover from pre-sales to delivery, including knowledge transfer, transition planning, and success criteria definition.

Cross-Line-of-Business Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams across Sales, Delivery, Consulting, Cloud Engineering, Support, Finance, Product, Legal, and Risk.
  • Lead solution integration across all Oracle domains to ensure a cohesive proposal.
  • Coach and mentor pre-sales and solution teams on deal strategy, client engagement, and commercial acumen.
  • Navigate Oracle’s internal tools, processes, and approval workflows efficiently
  • Contribute to the development of pre-sales assets, methodologies, and best practices across the organization.

Required Experience & Qualifications

Experience

  • 10–15+ years of experience in IT services, with significant exposure to managed services pre-sales and large-scale outsourcing deals.
  • Proven track record of leading and closing complex, multi-million-dollar managed services engagements.
  • Strong background in application and infrastructure services, including cloud, hybrid environments, and IT service management frameworks.
  • Experience working with global, multi-cultural teams and clients across multiple geographies.
