IT & Data The Data Steward acts as a guardian and champion of data quality and as a key implementer of the data governance principles within an assigned domain (e.g., Customer, Product, Finance) or sub domain (for complex domains). Responsible for ensuring that data is accurate, reliable, secure, and fit for its intended purpose. They play a vital role in maintaining data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility.
As a hands-on enforcer of data governance policies, the Data Steward supports issue resolution, monitors data quality, ensures compliance with established standards, manages specific data elements of moderate complexity, and contributes to broader data governance initiatives. The Data Stewards engages with key stakeholders to identify and coordinate potential optimizations within the governance policies, data processes and data metrics. This role focuses on the commercial and technical enrichment of our product offering.
You manage the quality of technical specifications, product attributes, images, and commercial descriptions. Your goal is to build a "single source of truth" that feeds our E-commerce platforms, ensuring customers can find, identify, and purchase the exact parts they need with confidence. You collaborate closely with other data stewards, especially the product data steward for regulatory subdomains.
Key Responsibilities
* Domain Data Contact:
Serve as the primary point of contact for all data-related inquiries within the assigned domain, ensuring data is consistently accurate, reliable, and complete. Facilitate understanding and effective use of domain data across teams.
* Standards Enforcement:
Ensure strict adherence to data standards, policies, and guidelines established by the Data Owner within the assigned domain. Promote consistent data handling, processing, and usage across all relevant systems and teams.
* Technical Data Issue Resolution:
To maintain data integrity, proactively identify, investigate, and resolve data conflicts, discrepancies, and quality issues within the domain.
* Data Quality Monitoring & Improvement:
Accountable for tracking and analyzing data quality metrics within the domain. Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying areas for enhancement and implementing best practices to elevate data accuracy and consistency over time.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with Data Governance teams, Data management roles and business stakeholders to ensure domain data effectively meets business requirements. Facilitate communication, gather feedback, and align data practices across departments.
* Workload Coordination:
Coordinate and manage the allocation of domain data-related tasks among Data Maintenance professionals to ensure efficient workflow, timely completion, and alignment with operational priorities.
* Mentorship & Guidance:
Provide guidance and support to less experienced colleagues, assisting them with daily tasks and promoting skill development and adherence to best practices.
Your Profile
* Master's degree (or equivalent by experience) in a relevant field such as Information Management, Data Management, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Equivalent practical experience may be considered.
* 2-5 years of experience working with data, preferably in a data management, data quality, or data governance role.
* Familiarity with data governance principles, data quality concepts, and data management best practices.
* Understanding of data structures, data relationships, and database concepts.
* Experience working with data management tools and technologies (e.g., data quality platforms, data catalogs, data profiling tools) is a plus.
* Basic understanding of relevant industry regulations
