Microsoft Business Intelligence Expert – MS Fabric

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Microsoft Business Intelligence (BI) Expert with specialized knowledge in Microsoft Fabric
. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying robust BI solutions that leverage the end‑to‑end analytics capabilities of the Microsoft Fabric platform. You will play a crucial role in transforming raw data into actionable insights, enabling data‑driven decision‑making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data models within Microsoft Fabric, utilizing components like One Lake, Data Factory and Data Engineering
    .
  • Develop and optimize data warehousing solutions using Data Warehouse in Fabric.
  • Create compelling and insightful reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Power BI
    , seamlessly integrated with Fabric datasets.
  • Implement and manage robust data governance
    , security, and compliance best practices within the Fabric environment, potentially leveraging tools like Microsoft Purview.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into technical BI solutions.
  • Leverage Data Science and Real‑Time Analytics capabilities within Fabric to deliver advanced analytics and predictive insights.
  • Utilize Data Activator to monitor data and trigger actions based on defined patterns and conditions.
  • Work with Lakehouse architecture to unify data storage and enable diverse analytical workloads.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across all BI solutions.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on Microsoft Fabric to other team members and stakeholders.
  • Stay up‑to‑date with the latest advancements in Microsoft Fabric, related Azure data services, and emerging AI assistant technologies like co‑pilot.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data, reports, and BI solutions within the Fabric ecosystem.
Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience as a BI Developer, Data Engineer, or similar role with a strong focus on Microsoft technologies.
  • In‑depth, hands‑on experience with Microsoft Fabric
    , including its core components:
    • One Lake (understanding of the unified data lake concept)
    • Data Factory (data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration)
    • Synapse Data Engineering (Spark‑based data processing)
    • Synapse Data Warehouse (modern data warehousing)
    • Power BI (data modeling, DAX, report and dashboard development)
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with query optimization.
  • Experience with Python or Scala for data manipulation and automation is highly desirable.
  • Solid understanding and practical experience in implementing data governance principles.
  • Understanding of data modeling concepts (e.g., dimensional modeling, star schemas).
  • Familiarity with Azure data services (e.g., Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL Database) and concepts of data governance tools such as Microsoft Purview.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Fluent in English and either French or Dutch, or both.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft certifications related to Data Engineering, Power BI, or Azure (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate, Power BI Data Analyst Associate).
  • Experience with Real‑Time Analytics and Data Activator in Fabric.
  • Knowledge of Data Science and machine learning concepts.
  • Familiarity with other data platforms such as Databricks.
  • Experience with Microsoft Purview for implementing and managing data governance.
  • Awareness or early adoption experience with AI‑powered developer tools, such as co‑pilot functionalities within the Microsoft ecosystem.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.
