Azure Cloud Security Architect – Banking Institution

I am looking for an experienced Azure Cloud Security Architect to join a leading banking institution in Belgium. You will be responsible for defining and implementing secure Azure architectures across a large-scale cloud transformation programme.

You will work closely with Cloud Engineering, Cyber Security, Infrastructure, Enterprise Architecture, and Application teams to ensure Azure environments are designed according to security best practices, regulatory requirements, and banking standards.

This role is ideal for a senior Azure security specialist who enjoys working in complex enterprise environments where identity, resilience, governance, and security by design are critical.

Responsibilities

• Define secure Azure cloud architectures and security patterns
• Design and review Azure Landing Zones and cloud security controls
• Provide security guidance for Azure migration and transformation initiatives
• Establish Azure security standards, guardrails, and governance models
• Perform security assessments of Azure solutions and applications
• Design security controls around:
• Identity and Access Management
• Privileged Access Management
• Conditional Access
• RBAC
• Network security
• Data protection
• Cloud monitoring and detection
• Support Zero Trust implementation across Azure environments
• Collaborate with Dev Ops teams to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines
• Work with security operations teams on Microsoft Defender and Sentinel integration

Required Experience

• 7+ years of experience in security architecture
• Proven experience with Azure security architecture in enterprise environments
• Strong knowledge of:
• Azure Security Center / Defender for Cloud
• Key Vault
• Azure Monitor and logging
• Experience with cloud governance and security frameworks
• Experience working in regulated environments (banking, finance, insurance)

Preferred Experience

• Experience with Azure Landing Zones
• Infrastructure as Code security (Terraform preferred)
• Microsoft Sentinel
• Hybrid cloud environments
• AWS security knowledge is advantageous

Certifications (preferred)

• CISSP
• CCSP
• Microsoft Certified:
  Azure Security Engineer Associate
• Microsoft Certified:
  Cybersecurity Architect Expert
