This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director of Global Supply Chain based in Belgium.

This is a highly visible global leadership role with significant influence over sourcing strategy, supplier performance, cost optimization, and overall supply chain results. You will shape global commodity management and strategic sourcing initiatives across a complex manufacturing environment. The role partners closely with senior executives, materials management teams, global business units, and strategic suppliers. You will lead initiatives that improve material costs, total cost of ownership, supplier quality, service, and supply continuity.

The position combines strategic leadership with hands-on analysis, negotiation, and performance management. It offers broad international exposure, with opportunities to collaborate across global operations and travel to business units and supply partners.

Accountabilities
  • Lead global strategic sourcing, commodity management, and supplier negotiation initiatives, identifying opportunities to reduce material and total costs while strengthening commercial outcomes.
  • Assess and improve global commodity quotation processes, establishing priorities, timelines, performance expectations, and consistent guidance for quote packages, supplier awards, and implementation.
  • Analyze global spend, pricing, supplier information, VMI activity, and active-part data to establish competitive pricing and total-cost-of-ownership targets.
  • Lead key supplier negotiations and develop strategies addressing supplier quality, service, cost, performance, escalation management, and long-term value.
  • Establish and maintain reporting for savings, purchase price variance, supplier awards, implementation progress, and supplier performance.
  • Develop supplier scorecards, executive relationships, and structured escalation processes to strengthen accountability and collaboration across the supply base.
  • Monitor market shifts, emerging technologies, commodity trends, and supply risks, translating findings into actionable direction for global locations.
  • Lead global spend analysis and maintain accurate, reliable spend information and database infrastructure to support sourcing decisions.
  • Develop and implement supplier risk mitigation, business continuity, and supply assurance strategies across the global network.
  • Lead initiatives related to responsible and diversified sourcing, including conflict minerals and minority/diverse supplier development programs.
  • Build, lead, and develop global supply chain resources, establishing clear expectations, accountability, capabilities, and professional development plans.
  • Partner with senior leadership and cross-functional teams on strategic projects supporting business growth, margin improvement, and broader financial objectives.
  • Travel internationally and domestically, as required, to engage with business units, suppliers, and other strategic partners.
Requirements
  • Minimum
    10 years of supply chain negotiation experience
    , including substantial global strategic sourcing and commodity management responsibility.
  • Minimum
    10 years of experience in contract electronics manufacturing
    or a closely related manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of global strategic sourcing, commodity management, supplier negotiations, and total-cost-of-ownership principles.
  • Strong experience with ERP systems, preferably
    SAP
    , along with spend analysis, database management, and supply chain information systems.
  • Advanced proficiency in
    Microsoft Excel
    and business analytics tools, with the ability to translate complex spend and supplier data into actionable business decisions.
