Mission – Purpose & Impact
As a key member of the Global Retail HQ team, you are responsible for driving the commercial performance and planning of Baobab’s owned retail network worldwide. You define sales targets, forecast growth, and ensure every market operates within an efficient, profitable, and data‑driven framework.
You act as the business architect of retail performance, connecting sales insights, financial governance, and field realities into one coherent international growth plan.
You work closely with the Senior Manager – Global Retail Excellence & Operations to ensure that commercial ambitions are supported by robust operational foundations, efficient cost structures, and measurable ROI.
Analytical, structured, and business‑minded, you serve as the reference point at HQ for performance analysis, budget oversight, and strategic retail planning.
Key Responsibilities – Scope of Contribution1. Build annual sales budgets and 3‑year strategic plans
- By country, door, and category in partnership with Finance and Retail Leadership.
- Translate strategic goals into measurable KPIs (productivity metrics, growth %, category mix, CRM acquisition targets).
- Collaborate with Retail Excellence & Operations to align planning assumptions with store potential and operational capacity.
2. Retail Performance Monitoring
- Lead weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews, identifying performance gaps and recommending corrective levers.
- Analyse key indicators (ATV, UPT, conversion, traffic, category mix, CRM, productivity/FTE).
- Deliver actionable insights to HQ, field teams, and distributors to support continuous improvement.
- Integrate market intelligence from the Area Retail Manager – Europe and other regions into HQ reporting.
3. Finance & Forecast Governance
- Partner with Finance to ensure alignment on sell‑out reporting, margin analysis, and P&L visibility.
- Track monthly budget vs. actuals, analyse variances, and recommend actions.
- Support new store openings and investment decisions through ROI analysis and productivity benchmarks.
- Validate all financial assumptions behind expansion and activation projects using robust sales data.
4. Partnership with Retail Excellence & Operations
- Co‑develop performance dashboards, forecasting templates, and KPI methodologies to support unified global reporting.
- Align on launch targets and event ROI, commercial performance with operational execution.
- Consolidate post‑launch and post‑event performance reviews to jointly steer retail performance.
- Provide sales‑driven input into global retail projects (POS improvements, new concept rollouts, productivity programmes).
5. Distributor & International Coordination
- Monitor and challenge sell‑out performance across distributor markets (Asia, China, Middle East).
- Consolidate regional data and feedback to deliver full global sales visibility.
- Drive harmonised KPI reporting across direct and indirect markets.
6. Insights & Strategic Recommendations
- Identify growth drivers and business risks across markets, categories, and stores.
- Provide data‑driven insights influencing collection planning, launch priorities, and market focus.
- Support the Global Retail Director with analysis and materials for strategic presentations and leadership reporting.
- 7–10 years’ experience in Retail Sales, Business Planning, or Commercial Analysis within luxury or premium retail.
- Strong experience in multi‑market sales governance, retail forecasting, and budget management.
- Excellent analytical skills with strong proficiency in Excel, BI tools, and financial modelling.
- Strategic and structured thinker with proven collaboration abilities across Sales, Operations, Marketing, and Finance.
- Ability to translate data into clear strategic recommendations.
- Fluent in English and French; additional languages are a plus.
- Based in Wavre HQ with occasional international travel (approximately 20–25%).
