Van de Velde Packaging Group is a leading producer of paper-based packaging, including paper cups. The Group operates through 15 subsidiaries across 7 countries and employs 1350 people. Backed by private capital, Van de Velde Packaging is transitioning to a more scalable group structure.
To support this transformation, we are looking for an experienced PMO / Program Manager to partner with Management and drive cross‑functional initiatives from strategy to execution.
Objectives of the RoleThe PMO will support Van de Velde Packaging’s transformation by structuring, coordinating, and driving the execution of the Group’s strategic initiatives. Acting as a central point between Management and local teams, the PMO ensures that priorities are translated into concrete actions, monitored progress, and outcomes are clearly reported to governance bodies (e.g. Board of Directors).
Key Objectives include:
- Translate the Group’s strategic priorities into structured programs and execution roadmaps
- Drive and monitor transformation initiatives end‑to‑end, from design to delivery
- Ensure alignment across departments, locations, functions, and management levels
- Set and track clear quantitative and qualitative KPIs linked to value creation
- Prepare clear, decision‑oriented materials for Management and the Board of Directors
- Act as the central coordination point for Group‑level initiatives, ensuring alignment between Management and departments (Finance, Commercial, Operations, etc.)
- Structure and maintain the portfolio of strategic initiatives, including prioritisation, sequencing, milestones, and dependencies
- Coordinate cross‑functional project teams, ensuring progress, accountability, and timely escalation of risks or delays
- Monitor execution against agreed objectives, KPIs, timelines, and budgets, and propose corrective actions when required
- Prepare clear, structured progress reports and decision materials for Group Management and the Board of Directors
- Support the setup and continuous improvement of governance, reporting, and program management standards at Group level
Skills and Qualifications
- At least 10 years of professional experience
- Proven experience in program/project portfolio management, or in a management‑level role within an industrial, corporate, or transformation environment
- Strong ability to structure complex initiatives, define priorities, and translate strategic objectives into executable plans
- Demonstrated experience coordinating cross‑functional stakeholders
- Strong analytical and synthesis skills, with the ability to track performance through relevant KPIs and dashboards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, concise materials for senior management and governance bodies
- High level of autonomy, judgement, and pragmatism in evolving contexts
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Dutch or another European language (German, Polish, French, Italian) is an asset
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, Engineering, Economics, or a related field
- Experience supporting organisational change, performance improvement, or transformation initiatives in a corporate or industrial context
- Good understanding of manufacturing or industrial environments, with the ability to quickly grasp operational and financial drivers
- Prior exposure to group‑level coordination across multiple entities or functions is an asset
