As a Production Manager at Ciner Glass, you will have the unique opportunity to help build a state-of-the-art glass manufacturing facility from the ground up.
In this key leadership role, you will be responsible for the entire Feeder and Individual Section (IS) Department
, the beating heart of our container glass production process, where molten glass is transformed into high-quality glass packaging.
You will report directly to the Production Director and lead a department consisting of Team Leaders, Production Engineers, Shift Leaders, and Operators.
You combine in-depth technical expertise in glass forming processes with strong leadership skills and a hands‑on approach. In a dynamic start‑up environment, you will play a critical role in building a high‑performing organization, stabilizing production processes, and achieving world‑class performance in safety, quality, efficiency, and reliability.
Core responsibilities & main tasks Operational Management- Lead all activities within the IS Department and take ownership of daily production performance.
- Ensure the safe, stable, and efficient operation of the IS machines.
- Monitor productivity, machine efficiency (OEE), quality performance, and scrap rates.
- Analyze production results and implement corrective actions to continuously improve performance.
- Collaborate closely with Batch & Furnace, Mould Shop, Maintenance, Quality, and Cold End departments to ensure an optimal production flow.
- Take responsibility for the start‑up, stabilization, and continuous optimization of new products and production lines.
- Translate company objectives into operational actions on the production floor.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement throughout the production department.
- Analyze process parameters, defects, and production data to implement sustainable improvements.
- Lead root cause analyses for quality and production‑related issues.
- Identify and implement optimizations related to machine performance, yield, and product quality.
- Actively contribute to capital investment projects, technological innovations, and process improvement initiatives.
- Support standardization efforts and best‑practice sharing across the department.
- Directly lead and develop Team Leaders and Production Engineers, while indirectly leading and developing Shift Leaders and Operators.
- Build and foster a strong performance and safety culture throughout the organization.
- Coach leaders and employees in their professional growth and development.
- Take ownership of performance management, talent development, and succession planning within the department.
- Create an environment where accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement are central values.
- Ensure the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental performance.
- Actively promote a strong safety and quality culture.
- Take responsibility for achieving quality targets and reducing internal defects and production losses.
- Participate actively in audits, inspections, and continuous improvement programs.
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent through experience.
- Minimum of 7–10 years of experience within the container glass industry.
- Proven experience with IS machines, glass forming processes, and hot‑end production.
- Demonstrated leadership experience within an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of OEE, Lean Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Experience in process optimization, quality improvement, and defect reduction.
- Strong people manager with a coaching leadership style.
- Hands‑on mentality combined with excellent analytical skills.
- Fluent in Dutch and English.
- Experience in a start‑up or greenfield environment is considered a strong advantage.
