Save the Children International has an exciting opportunity for a Communications Officer to join our global team.

Team and Job Purpose

Save the Children Europe’s purpose is to ensure that EU policies and funding have a lasting and positive impact on children’s lives by influencing decision‑making in Brussels. It focuses on fighting child poverty, protecting children in conflict and migration, and securing investment in health and education across Europe and beyond. The team brings together advocacy and donor‑relations expertise to break cycles of poverty and inequality while amplifying children’s voices in decisions that shape their futures.

The Communications Officer will support Save the Children Europe’s strategic communications by strengthening media, digital and internal communications that advance children’s rights within EU policies and funding frameworks. Working closely with the Advocacy Team and the Head of Office, the role will contribute to positioning Save the Children as a credible and influential voice on EU priorities, with a particular focus on the EU Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF).

The post holder will lead on day‑to‑day media and social media activities, produce engaging and child‑centred content, and ensure consistent messaging across external and internal channels. The Communications Officer will also play a key role in internal communications, including newsletters and staff updates, supporting information sharing and coherence across the organisation.

In some instances, the role will involve working directly with children and young people to support meaningful, ethical participation in communications activities, ensuring their voices are represented safely, accurately and in line with child safeguarding standards.

This role is ideal for someone early in their communications career who is eager to learn, write compelling content, manage digital channels, and help strengthen the organisation’s brand and reputation.
