Location: Town of Belgium
As a Quality Engineer, you safeguard product and process quality within Petersime. You report to the Quality Manager, who in turn reports directly to the CEO and is part of the management team.
Your responsibilities- You ensure consistent quality monitoring of all incoming and manufactured goods, as well as the processes behind them.
- You carry out sample inspections and translate the results into clear reports.
- You develop, implement and maintain quality documentation such as work instructions, one‑point lessons and inspection reports.
- You detect and analyze quality issues and develop structural solutions in close collaboration with Production, Purchasing and R&D.
- You support the production department in managing non‑conformities and contribute to resolving them in a sustainable way.
- You translate quality findings into concrete improvement proposals.
- You implement actions that strengthen quality awareness and embed a quality mindset throughout the organization.
- You analyze customer complaints and communicate the proposed solutions.
- You investigate supplier complaints and liaise directly with the relevant supplier.
- You prepare and carry out internal and supplier audits, and you follow up on the implementation of the resulting improvement actions.
- You support the design and development of new products.
- You work closely with suppliers to ensure the quality of incoming goods.
- You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a technical field (electromechanics, electronics, HVAC, etc.) or have equivalent experience.
- You have relevant experience in Quality, R&D or as a process engineer in a production environment.
- You are a conceptual problem‑solver with a hands‑on approach.
- You enjoy working independently and managing your cases from start to finish.
- You see the value of discussing cases face to face, whether on the production floor or at the supplier’s.
- You have a strong sense of responsibility and place great importance on safety, cleanliness and, of course, quality.
- You are a natural bridge‑builder: communicative, team‑oriented and comfortable collaborating with suppliers and colleagues across departments.
- You have basic knowledge of Solid Works (or a similar CAD package) and are confident using Excel.
- Knowledge of TQM, SPC, Six Sigma or 8D is an additional asset.
