About the role

The Regional Sensory Coordinator will be responsible for all the activities to ensure the sensory quality performance of Barry Callebaut in the region Europe. The objective is to roll out the global sensory structure and procedures, guide and evaluate all sites to implement and sustain them to produce first time quality results. This position is also a key support for customer sensory requirements and alignments, product development, product optimization and issue troubleshooting for any internal or external requirements.

The QA Sensory System Manager will ensure each production site is aligned with global QA sensory systems.

Key responsibilities include

Lead the Sensory Quality Assurance Program in the Europe region:

  • Follow up with local teams to ensure that taste is evaluated, monitored and reported as a quality parameter.
  • Provide support and advice to the European local sensory coordinators as the regional sensory expert (example: expired materials, raw material non-conformities and complaints).
  • Train and support the local sites with the sensory software program.

Coordination of sensory tests for internal and external customers:

  • Coordinate and/or conduct sensory tests for plants in the region in the event of insufficient capacity or expertise.
  • Regional point of contact for sensory for external customers and review, as needed, customer requirements related to sensory.

About you

  • Master degree in food science or equivalent
  • Any quality certification (HACCP, …) are nice to have
  • Additional languages are nice to have
  • The role also brings you into regular contact with other functions within the company.
  • As a Regional Sensory Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and provide a sensory experience that captivates our customers
  • As member of a Global quality team, this role allows to liaise and work with people in all BC locations across the globe
  • Occasional travel might be required up to 15% of the time
  • 2-3 years of experience with sensory in a consumer or food production environment
  • Good knowledge of excel, word and power point
  • Be able to independently follow up on projects and make decisions
  • Problem-solving ability and basic knowledge of statistics
  • Internal and external customer focus
  • Good presentation skills (formatting and giving)
  • A previous experience with a sensory software package is a plus
