OPERATIONS MANAGER(Shrimp aquaculture research)

IMAQUA is looking for a highly motivated and driven Operations manager to plan, organise and manage floor operations, coordinate and supervise research trials and the team of technicians, at our premises in Belgium.

IMAQUA is a contract research organisation that provides professional research services on shrimp health. We test the effect of products, feed formulations and genetic selection on shrimp resistance to disease, immunity and growth performance. We offer unique combinations of standardized in vivo and in vitro testing models for WSSV, AHPND/EMS and other relevant pathogens.

We offer state-of-the‑art testing models and facilities for screening and validating shrimp health products in a cost‑effective manner. Our services stand for quality, precision and reliability.

• Planning, coordination and supervision of research trials, team of technicians and operational activities
• Ensuring team adherence to quality standards, biosafety, and safety rules
• Drafting and keeping SOPs, WIs, and other operational templates and documents up to date
• Managing operational resources
• Supporting scientific projects
• Supporting procurement of research specific materials
• All other tasks necessary to ensure the smooth running of research trials and floor operations

Ideal candidate would have the following competencies:

• Degree in Veterinary Medicine, Bioengineering, Biology or related fields
• At least 5 years of aquaculture experience
• General knowledge on shrimp biology, health, nutrition, RAS, microbiology
• Numerical and scientific literacy

• Proven people and project/process management skills
• Driven and energetic team player
• Highly motivated and autonomous
• Strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritise and solve problems
• Professional written and spoken English
• Ability to develop and draft procedures and instructions
• Strong analytical skills

• Advanced knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft office tools, statistic program;
• Odoo experience
• Additional languages
