DNA Hybridization Detection with EGFETs
PhD internship - Leuven. The internship focuses on advanced electrical and electrochemical characterization of liquid‑gated EGFET sensors, evaluating their potential for fully integrated real‑time biosensing platforms.
Responsibilities
:
The student will electrically characterize the standard liquid‑gated FET IdVg characteristics, sensor stability and hybridization sensitivity across varying electrolyte conditions and surface functionalization protocols. Measurements will be performed on a probe station while a microfluidic setup enables automated exchange between different electrolyte conditions. Benchmarks include dose‑response curves, drift, hysteresis, and noise characteristics. The results will contribute to the development of a fully‑integrated real‑time biosensing platform.
Type of internship
:
PhD internship
Duration
: 6 months
Required educational background
:
Chemistry/Chemical Engineering, Bioscience Engineering, Electrotechnics/Electrical Engineering, Nanoscience & Nanotechnology, Materials Engineering
University promotor
:
Pol Van Dorpe (KU Leuven)
