Lawyers spend too much time wrestling with documents, context switching, and “AI outputs” they can’t verify.
Alice changes that: a single workspace where case files become structured insights and draft-ready outputs—with sources you can click and check.

The frontend is where this experience either feels magical or frustrating. We are looking for a Lead Frontend Engineer who is deeply hands‑on, obsesses over UX polish, and wants full ownership of the interface that power users will live in every day.

As the frontend lead, you won't just be executing tickets; you will be the architect of our user experience.

• Lead & Own: Take full ownership of the frontend architecture, from initial software design to deployment and scaling.
• Hands‑on Building: Remain deeply technical, writing clean, high-performance code for document-heavy, complex workflows.
• Vision Execution: Implement a strong, user-focused vision, ensuring the interface simplifies complex legal flows (timelines, citations, diffing, and drafting).
• SDLC Leadership: Play a pivotal role across the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)—from discovery and design to testing and production monitoring.
• Architectural Design: Create and implement robust software designs that ensure our component library and state management scale seamlessly.

  Partner as a peer with Product and Design to translate ambiguous user needs into concrete, delightful UI decisions.

We need a seasoned engineer who has "been there and done that" in a production environment.

• Proven Track Record: You have extensive experience delivering complex, production‑ready web applications from scratch.
• Leadership & Ownership: You are comfortable being the "point person" for the frontend, making high‑stakes technical decisions, and driving them to completion.
• Cross‑functional
  
  Experience:
  
  You have a history of working successfully within cross‑functional teams (Eng, Product, Design) and know how to communicate technical trade‑offs to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Deep Technical Expertise: Mastery of Type Script ,
  React
  , and modern state management. You know how to optimize for perceived performance and handle streaming/async interactions.
• Product Mindset: You don't just build what’s on the Figma file; you advocate for the user and challenge designs that don't meet the "polish" bar.

• Based in Belgium and/or fluent in Dutch

• 1-2 days in our Ghent based office.
• Experience building UX patterns for LLM‑enabled applications (streaming text, citation highlighting, etc.).
• Experience mentoring other engineers or establishing frontend best practices in a growing startup.
