We work with leading organisations in finance, insurance, pharma, healthcare, and the public sector. As our platform grows, we are expanding our engineering team with a Senior Developer who loves solving complex problems, designing elegant systems, and building high-quality software.

As a Senior Developer, you will help shape the technical foundation of Docbyte Vault. You’ll work closely with our CTO to design and build:

• high-performance backend services
• secure and scalable APIs
• data structures for long-term preservation
• workflows for time stamping, integrity checks and retention
• features used by Europe’s most regulated industries

This is a role with real autonomy, architectural influence, and end-to-end ownership.

• Develop backend or fullstack features for Docbyte Vault
• Contribute to architecture alongside the CTO
• Improve performance, security and reliability
• Write clean, testable, maintainable code
• Mentor other developers and raise engineering standards
• Work with the Product Owner to translate requirements into clear technical deliverables
• Collaborate with QA and Dev Ops to strengthen the CI/CD pipeline
• Research new technologies that can improve our product offering

• 5+ years experience as a backend or fullstack developer
• Strong in Java
• Experience with REST APIs, databases (Mongo
  
  DB preferred), CI/CD, Docker
• You enjoy diving into complex systems and designing elegant solutions
• You can think long-term while remaining pragmatic
• You communicate clearly and enjoy collaborating with product and engineering
• You are fluent in English (Dutch is a strong plus)

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with cryptography, integrity, or digital preservation
• Experience in regulated environments (finance, healthcare, pharma, insurance)
• Familiarity with distributed systems or event-driven architectures
