Join Verhaert On-Site Consulting and contribute to the development of next-generation industrial safety technology.
We are looking for an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to support the adaptation and optimization of software for an innovative industrial machinery platform. You will play a key role in modifying and validating embedded software as part of the development of a new machine variant, ensuring reliability, safety and compliance throughout the process.
This assignment is ideally suited for a freelance consultant with strong embedded development experience and a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and problem solving.
Responsibilities- Develop, modify and maintain embedded software written in C++.
- Adapt existing software architecture to support new machine functionality.
- Analyze, diagnose and resolve software issues and error codes.
- Support software integration, testing and validation activities.
- Collaborate closely with hardware, electronics and project teams.
- Contribute to system reliability, safety and performance improvements.
- Support compliance activities related to electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
- Participate in debugging and root cause analysis of technical issues.
- Proven experience in Embedded Software Development using C++.
- Strong understanding of embedded systems and hardware-software interaction.
- Experience troubleshooting embedded applications and resolving complex technical issues.
- Knowledge of EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) principles, testing and compliance requirements.
- Experience working with industrial equipment, machinery, automation systems or safety-critical products.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical challenges.
- Experience with industrial machinery or machine safety systems.
- Familiarity with PCB-based embedded platforms.
- Experience supporting certification, testing or compliance activities.
- Knowledge of real-time or safety-related embedded software development.
- Freelance assignment on an innovative industrial safety product.
