Job Status: This position is full time. HRDC also offers flexible schedules and a "reduced work week", which encourages full-time staff to use up to 4 paid hours weekly for their personal wellness.

Location: Belgrade Head Start Center
Schedule: This position will be off of work every year during the month of July.
General Summary of Purpose of this PositionThe Site Supervisor provides leadership and oversight for a designated Head Start center, ensuring high-quality early childhood services that meet program standards and state licensing requirements. This position supports staff development and professional growth, contributes to staff recruitment and hiring, and serves as a key resource for staff, families, school districts, and community partners. The Site Supervisor is also responsible for ensuring compliance with program requirements, maintaining required documentation and reports, and supporting efforts to secure non-federal share contributions.
PrimaryJob Duties and Responsibilities
1. Supervisory and Center Oversight Responsibility (60%)
- Directly supervises teaching staff, classroom support staff, substitutes, volunteers, and food service personnel in the assigned center.
- Ensures implementation of Head Start Program Performance Standards, program policies, action plans, and School Readiness Plans.
- Conducts ongoing classroom observations, coaching, and feedback to support staff development, instructional quality, and continuous improvement.
- Position is expected to maintain a regular on-site presence during program operating hours, with occasional off-site responsibilities including meetings, training, and program-related activities.
- Works in collaboration with the Education Manager to develop and implement professional development plans aligned with staff needs and credentialing requirements.
- Supports instructional quality monitoring, including CLASS observations, feedback, and follow-up coaching.
- Monitors and supports key program components including home visits, parent conferences, field trips, attendance, and family engagement, working closely with teaching and family support staff to improve outcomes.
- Participates in IEP and transition meetings as needed and supports the implementation of intervention and action plans.
- Coordinates classroom coverage for staff absences, including providing direct classroom support when needed. Ensures center health, safety, and facility needs are addressed through regular walkthroughs and follow-up on identified issues.
- Communicates regularly and effectively with parents, children, staff, and community professionals to support high-quality services and positive outcomes for children and families.
- Provides leadership for classroom Action Plan meetings and participates in staff meetings to support coordinated service delivery.
- Supports planning and implementation of family engagement activities, including screenings, parent education opportunities, and literacy events.
- Works collaboratively with staff to identify children who may need additional assessment or support services and ensures appropriate follow-up.
- Coordinates and supports transitions for children and families entering Head Start and transitioning to public school systems, serving as a transition liaison for assigned children.
- Prepares and submits monthly monitoring reports to the Head Start Director summarizing classroom monitoring activities and Education Focus Area outcomes.
