Bridger Aerospace is an aerial firefighting company based in Belgrade, Montana, located at the Bozeman Yellowstone Airport (KBZN). It was founded in 2014 to support front-line firefighters with world-leading technology and aerial fire suppression systems. We have grown from operating a single plane to commanding a significant Air Attack and the largest Super Scooper fleet in the U.S. in less than eight years.
Bridger is a leader in fighting wildfires, specializing in Air Attack, Fire Suppression, and Aerial Fire‑Mapping technologies. Meeting the needs of the growing threat of economic and environmental damage caused by wildfires and supporting ground‑based firefighters is our priority.
Bridger is seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager II to lead and execute projects and operational initiatives that impact multiple teams and corporate entities across the organization. This mid‑level role is ideal for a professional with demonstrated experience managing complex technical or cross‑functional projects, particularly within aerospace, aviation, or engineering environments.
The Project Manager II role will oversee project planning, coordination, execution, and reporting while ensuring alignment with organizational goals and stated objectives. This role requires strong communication, travel, analytical thinking, and the ability to anticipate obstacles and proactively drive projects to successful completion. The Project Manager II This position is supervised by and reports to Director of Integration and Project Management.
This position is based at Bridger Aerospace in Belgrade, MT or Huntsville, AL and is full‑time.
Director of Integration and Project Management
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership & Execution
- Lead planning, coordination, and execution of projects from initiation through completion.
- Develop project plans, timelines, and milestones; manage updates as scope or priorities evolve.
- Identify risks, dependencies, and blockers; propose and implement mitigation strategies.
- Drive accountability among project participants and ensure deliverables remain on schedule.
- Ensure project documentation, requirements, and communication materials are accurate and up to date.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned projects, ensuring timely updates and alignment across departments and corporate entities.
- Facilitate effective communication with project stakeholders, including operations, engineering, leadership, and technical staff.
- Notify executive sponsors for failing timelines and cost overruns in a timely fashion and proposed remediation and corrective actions to rectify.
- Lead project meetings, prepare structured agendas, document decisions, and track follow‑up action items.
- Ability to read technical drawings.
- Develop, refine, and optimize project management processes, templates, and workflows.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members on project management practices, tools, and experience.
- Leverage tools such as Microsoft Project, Power BI, Excel, and other platforms to enhance operational efficiency.
- Recommend new tools, processes, or methodologies that improve PMO effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of project management working experience, preferably in fast‑paced defense or engineering‑driven environments.
- Aerospace or aviation industry experience required, including work with technical teams, flight operations, engineering, or aircraft programs.
- Experience supporting or managing aircraft modification projects, such as structural modifications, avionics upgrades, STC programs, or system integrations.
- Familiarity with sensor integration, payload installation, mission equipment integration, or avionics/sensor system workflows.
- Familiarity with FAA regulations.
