Location:
BELGRADE, MT 59714, USA
Responsible for the day‑to‑day operation of company equipment used primarily in constructing overhead and underground telecommunication lines.
Minimum Qualifications- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment used in utility construction.
- Current First Aid/CPR card or willingness to obtain.
- Advanced knowledge of OSHA requirements for equipment operations, repair and maintenance.
- Must be a member of the union with jurisdiction over the job site location.
- Valid commercial driver's license and current DOT medical exam card or willingness to obtain.
- Ability to work successfully as part of a team and independently when needed.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and respond to emergency situations.
- Operate heavy machinery used in utility construction (e.g., tractor, bulldozer, backhoe, forklift, excavator). Cranes excluded. May also operate machines on construction sites involving gas transmission and distribution pipelines, electric power transmission and distribution lines, and substations.
- Inspect and grease equipment daily, ensuring it is safe and ready for operations; coordinate needed repairs with Foreman and mechanics.
- Assist with requisitioning, handling, and transporting materials, equipment, and small hand tools used by crews during construction utilities when equipment operation is not required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Wage per the Montana Communications contract; pay range $26.64–$33.22 based on experience.
- Benefits tied to union membership.
- Retirement plan contribution of 6% of earnings; no match contribution unless employee contributes.
- Background check, motor vehicle records (MVR) and drug screen required.
