Carpenter
This role leads and supports small crews of restoration technicians in performing demolition, cleanup, and reconstruction work on residential and commercial properties. You will assist with repairing and restoring structures affected by water, fire, smoke, mold, or other damage while performing hands-on carpentry and finishing tasks. The position requires consistent use of hand and power tools, careful preparation of job sites, and accurate documentation of daily work.
You will help ensure jobsite safety and compliance with standards while communicating professionally with clients and team members.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support crews of 1–2 restoration technicians in demolition, cleanup, and reconstruction tasks.
- Assist with repair and restoration of structures affected by water, fire, smoke, mold, or other types of damage.
- Perform hands-on carpentry and finishing work, including drywall repair, taping, texturing, painting, trim installation, and basic carpentry.
- Read and follow blueprints and installation instructions to complete framing, rough carpentry, and finish carpentry tasks accurately.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively to complete daily assignments.
- Prepare job sites by gathering materials, setting up tools and equipment, and ensuring everything is ready for daily tasks.
- Maintain accurate daily documentation, including time sheets, checklists, and detailed project notes.
- Ensure jobsite safety and compliance with company guidelines and OSHA standards at all times.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas, vehicles, and equipment throughout each project.
- Communicate professionally and courteously with clients, team members, and project leadership to provide updates and address questions.
- Respond to on-call assignments one week per month as part of a rotating schedule.
- Demonstrate integrity and professionalism in appearance, conduct, and interactions on every job.
Essential Skills
- At least 2 years of experience in finish carpentry, including trim installation and related tasks.
- At least 2 years of experience in drywall hanging, taping, and texturing.
- Proficiency in painting walls, trim, and exteriors with attention to detail and quality.
- Hands-on experience with framing, rough carpentry, and general carpentry techniques.
- Ability to read and work from blueprints and installation instructions.
- Skilled in the safe and effective use of hand and power tools in a construction environment.
- Ability to work at heights over 5 feet when required.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including standing for most of the day and lifting construction materials up to 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to safety and familiarity with basic OSHA safety practices.
- Professional and personable communication skills when interacting with clients and coworkers.
- Reliable attendance and the ability to participate in an on-call rotation one week per month.
- Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and accountability in previous roles.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- IICRC certification preferred for restoration-related work.
- Experience working on restoration projects involving water, fire, smoke, or mold damage.
- Experience coordinating with small crews or assisting in a lead capacity on construction or restoration projects.
- Ability to document work clearly and accurately in time sheets, checklists, and project notes.
- Strong organizational skills to manage tools, materials, and jobsite setup efficiently.
