Responsible for understanding, upholding, and promoting the Everus 4
EVER Strategy. Responsible for the day-to-day operation of company directional drill equipment which is primarily used in a job site setting where the construction of overhead and underground telecommunication lines is being performed.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of experience related to the operation of heavy equipment used in utility construction. Experience with directional drills is required.
- Valid commercial driver's license and current DOT medical exam card are required.
- Previous experience operating a directional drill is needed for success in this role.
- Current First Aid / CPR card or willingness/ability to obtain.
- Advanced knowledge of OSHA requirements applicable to equipment operations, repair and maintenance is needed.
- Must be a member of the union that has jurisdiction over the job site location.
- Ability to work successfully as part of a team as well as independently on occasion.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and respond to emergency situations.
- Operate heavy machinery typically used in utility construction, including overhead and underground telecommunication lines, such as directional drill, tractor, bulldozer, backhoe, forklift, or excavator (excludes operation of cranes). Employees may be required to operate machines within construction sites that include gas transmission and distribution pipelines, electric power transmission and distribution lines, and electric substations.
- Inspect and grease equipment daily, ensuring equipment is safe and ready for operations. Coordinate needed repairs with Foreman and mechanics.
- Assist with the requisitioning, handling, and transporting of materials, equipment, and small hand tools used by crews in daily construction utilities. This work is performed on the ground during time frames when the operation of equipment is not needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Wage is per the Montana Communications contract from IBEW Locals 206, 532, 768. Pay range based on experience: $24.70 - $33.57 per hour.
- Benefits are tied to union membership.
