Tech Lead Python Developer MCP

Job Responsibilities

Develop and maintain MCP based services and protocol adapters using Python

Design and implement REST and asynchronous APIs with FastAPI

Lead technical design discussions and provide guidance on architecture decisions

Develop secure integrations using OAuth 2.0, SigV4, JWT, and other enterprise authentication mechanisms

Define and maintain canonical contracts and OpenAPI specifications

Implement observability and monitoring using Open Telemetry

Collaborate with security, architecture, and platform teams to align with enterprise standards

Conduct code reviews and support engineering best practices

Troubleshoot performance, scalability, and integration issues

Support governance reviews, technical documentation, and deployment activities

5+ years of experience in Python backend development

Hands on experience implementing MCP servers or similar tool protocol adapters

Experience developing REST and asynchronous APIs using FastAPI or equivalent frameworks

Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) standards and implementations

Experience implementing enterprise authentication solutions including OAuth 2.0, SigV4, and JWT

Experience designing and maintaining OpenAPI specifications and canonical service contracts

Experience with Open Telemetry instrumentation and observability practices

Strong understanding of API architecture, integration patterns, and distributed systems

Experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring engineers

Experience with AWS Agent Core Gateway

Experience with Lang Graph, Strands, or similar agent frameworks

Experience working within enterprise governance processes, including architecture review and information security reviews

Knowledge of AI agent platforms and modern AI integration architectures

Experience with cloud native application development on AWS

Strong understanding of enterprise integration and platform engineering practices
