Senior Java Software Engineer (Team Lead)

We at Holycode are currently looking for a Senior Java Software Engineer (Team Lead) with strong technical expertise, proven leadership experience, and a passion for building high-quality software to join the Carauktion project team on a full-time basis.

Carauktion is a leading company in the Automotive IT sector, working on a variety of internal and external projects that drive innovation in the industry. Their teams operate in a fully remote environment, fostering flexibility, autonomy, and collaboration.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer (Team Lead) to take a key role in designing, developing, and evolving our Java-based SaaS platform.

In addition to being a hands-on engineer, you will provide technical leadership to the development team, drive architectural decisions, mentor fellow engineers, and help shape engineering best practices. You will collaborate closely with Product Managers, QA, Dev Ops, and other cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-quality software solutions.

Experience with AWS is highly desirable, as you'll also contribute to cloud architecture, deployments, and infrastructure optimization.

• Technical Leadership:
  Lead the engineering team by providing technical guidance, mentoring developers, and promoting engineering best practices.
• Architecture & Solution Design:
  Design scalable, maintainable, and high-performing software architectures while driving technical decision-making across the team.
• Hands-on Development:
  Design, develop, and maintain Java applications using Spring Boot while actively contributing to the codebase.
• SaaS Platform Development:
  Drive the evolution of our SaaS platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Code Quality & Engineering Excellence:
  Conduct code reviews, establish development standards, and ensure clean, testable, and well-documented code.
• Microservices & APIs:
  Design and implement microservices and RESTful APIs that integrate seamlessly with internal and external systems.
• Cloud & Infrastructure:
  Collaborate with Dev Ops teams on AWS-based deployments, cloud architecture, monitoring, and infrastructure optimization.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  
  Work closely with Product, QA, Dev Ops, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Team Growth:
  Support hiring activities, mentor engineers, encourage knowledge sharing, and contribute to the professional development of the team.
• Continuous Improvement:
  Drive improvements in software architecture, development processes, CI/CD pipelines, and overall engineering efficiency.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

• 7+ years of professional experience in Java software development.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams or serving as a technical lead on complex software projects.
• Strong background in building and scaling SaaS products with a focus on performance, maintainability, and reliability.

• Excellent knowledge of Java and Spring Boot.
• Strong experience designing scalable microservices architectures.
• Extensive experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
• Strong understanding of software architecture principles and design patterns.
• Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL and ORM frameworks (Hibernate/JPA).
• Experience with messaging systems and asynchronous communication is considered a plus.
• Experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.).
• Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native application development.

• Proven ability to mentor engineers and provide technical leadership.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
