Lead Driver

Job Summary

Med Trans is Medline’s private fleet of professional drivers that delivers lifesaving medical products directly to commercial and residential customers. The fleet includes 1,900+ trucks equipped with newer technology and operates across a national network of over 50 distribution centers, providing 1‑day shipping to 95% of the United States.

The Lead Driver operates a straight truck to transport life‑saving medical products to local customers and builds positive relationships by ensuring timely, accurate, and safe deliveries.

• Encourage success of the local transportation team by serving as a motivator and resource to drivers.
• Act as a liaison between the local transportation team and management, communicating goals and escalating information as needed.
• Load and secure product from the Medline Facility into a truck.
• Safely operate a Class A or Class B vehicle between the Medline Facility and multiple customer destinations, abiding by Medline’s safety regulations.
• Unload and deliver products at customer facilities, ensuring timely deliveries.
• Provide in‑person support to customers, addressing questions and providing necessary documentation upon delivery.
• Communicate with the dispatching team regarding necessary adjustments to routes or schedules to meet customer needs and maintain safe operations.
• Maintain a travel and cargo log in accordance with Federal and State regulations and company policy.
• Perform vehicle inspections to ensure safe operation and sufficient fuel levels.

• Minimum 2 years of tractor‑trailer driving experience.
• Class A CDL and licensed to operate the assigned vehicle.
• Ability to meet Federal and State requirements for commercial motor vehicle operation.
• Clean driving record with no serious violations.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

$23.50 − $34.00 hourly. The actual salary will vary based on location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
