Position Summary
The Grameen Promotoras (GP) program is designed to provide underserved women with innovative and comprehensive health care and education programs that combine high‑quality primary care, wellness services, and health and financial education. The program empowers women to lead healthier lives and realize their full potential as business owners, mothers, and community members. This role is a Spanish‑speaking National Community Health Worker/Educator who will work closely with immigrant women participating in the GA microfinance program, delivering health, financial literacy, and small‑business related content, as well as social support.
Responsibilities- Lead groups of 20–30 women in basic group activities, including social support and education on a variety of topics.
- Implement a range of interventions including counseling, coaching, referral, and advocacy to help participants access services and resources in different cities or branches within the region.
- Educate members on financial and business topics, such as savings accounts, credit scores, and related matters.
- Support the implementation of different levels of program intervention, including education‑only models for new or expanding communities.
- Establish positive, supportive relationships with participants from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, both individually and in group settings.
- Help participants develop health management plans and financial goals.
- Coach participants in effective management of chronic conditions and self‑care.
- Manage schedule and coordination of group time and individual counseling.
- Document participant encounters, maintain participant files, and record activities in Salesforce.
- Build and maintain relationships with social service agencies, medical institutions, and community‑based organizations to facilitate referral processes.
- Work to reduce cultural and socioeconomic barriers between clients and institutions.
- Adapt to changing programmatic priorities and temporary national assignments based on organizational needs.
- Maintain regular communication and coordination with both the home branch team and any national assignment teams.
- Perform other related duties as assigned, including projects or priorities that advance the mission of Grameen America.
- Proficient in Google Suite / Microsoft Office.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to adapt and remain flexible day‑to‑day.
- Excellent attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience in health services, social services, or financial education is a plus.
- Flexibility in daily working hours (e.g., early start times).
- Hybrid position requiring regular in‑person attendance at the employee’s home branch office 2–3 days per week, or more frequently based on operational and programmatic needs.
