Houston-based real estate and advisory firm with a growing portfolio of operating entities, investments, and professional service activities.
Role DescriptionThe Accounting Assistant is a hands-on role supporting daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, reconciliations, and financial reporting. This position works closely with the Controller and finance leadership and is ideal for someone who enjoys operational accounting work and takes pride in accuracy and organization.
Qualifications- One to three (1–3) years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, or general accounting
- Working knowledge of basic accounting principles, including accruals and reconciliations
- Hands-on experience with Quick Books and cloud-based accounting or reporting tools
- Experience supporting payroll processing and payroll journal entries
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including spreadsheets and formulas
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
- Professional communication skills when working with vendors and internal stakeholders
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Bachelor's degree is a plus
