Meyer Carrington is a family-owned commercial real estate investment, management, leasing, and development company. Meyer Carrington is currently seeking a Controller to oversee the accounting operations of the company.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Oversee all accounting operations of the company, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Perform the monthly financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
  • Monitor company and property-level cash flow, coordinate treasury functions, and assist in capital planning
  • Manage tenant receivables and collections, including contacting delinquent tenants, tracking payment status, and maintaining aging and collections reports for management review
  • Supervise and support one accounting team member responsible primarily for accounts payable, bank reconciliation preparation, and administrative accounting support
  • Prepare and manage annual tenant CAM reconciliations, ensuring timely and accurate year-end tenant billings and recoveries
  • Coordinate lender reporting requirements, debt compliance items, and periodic financial reporting packages
  • Assist the CFO with the annual budgeting and forecasting process for the company’s real estate portfolio, coordinating with multiple departments
  • Oversee annual tax reporting support, including coordination with outside CPA firms
  • Maintain and improve accounting systems, internal controls, and operational efficiencies, including the thoughtful adoption of emerging technologies and AI where beneficial
  • Perform such other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA designation preferred
  • 6+ years of accounting experience, preferably with experience in commercial real estate
  • Experience with Yardi Voyager software preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including strong Excel skills
  • Ability to manage multiple entities, partnerships, and deadlines
  • Excellent communication (verbal & written), organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to adapt to changing priorities
